Savagery of the Senior Situation

As a parent my greatest goal is to ensure my children grow into decent human beings who have a loving mutual respect for each other and for my husband and I. The idea that as we age they might descend into a bitter power struggle over the care of their parents is anathema to me. The article (see link) however, describes my practice as an Accredited Succession Law Specialist. On a daily basis I bare witness to the the “new nasty”. It is frequently as dirty and dramatic as is depicted, but often it is far more subtle. There are many preventative steps you can take to minimise the ‘savagery of the senior situation’. Christine Smyth is a colleague who I initially got to know as a fellow member of the Queensland Law Society Succession Law Committee. This body makes submission to the Queensland Government on succession law, and deals with the judges committee on estate administration.
