TOMBSTONE TECHNOLOGY

Modern life is peripatetic. We no longer live and work in the one community all of our lives. Life gets busy, we lose touch with people we once knew and loved. Then we discover some pass, and in our quieter moments we reflect and often seek to say our final goodbyes. Utilising technology, the Brisbane City Council has paid light work to the task of locating the final resting place of loved ones. They have made it that much easier by creating an online search data base of the burials, cremations and memorials it manages for its 12 cemeteries and three crematoria. On a darker note, it is an unfortunately a feature of our modern litigious environment that from time to time people are excluded from knowing the whereabouts of a final resting place. This search facility can also assist those who have been deliberately excluded from knowing the details. Here is the link: https://graves.brisbane.qld.gov.au/ As of yet the Gold Coast City Council does not have a similar facility.
