More cancer patients rejected for disability support pension after rule change, report finds.

Changes in eligibility criteria rules resulted in more denied claims and longer processing times. The research did not examine additional qualifying modifications implemented by the Gillard administration, such as new “impairment tables,” which experts believe made it far more difficult for applicants to qualify for the pension.
